Tom Timblin had just started enjoying some success filling vacant stores in the Cedar Creek Mall when the Steve & Barry's bombshell hit.

The popular and spacious T-shirt shop shut down in 2008 and its corporate owners filed for bankruptcy.

It was just a year after Timblin bought the mall, situated along Interstate 39 in Rothschild, and he faced his largest vacancy yet while the country remained in the throes of the Great Recession. ...
