A new organization at Mountain Bay Elementary School aims to boost students' confidence and leadership skills while making the school a better place.

The student council - formed at the beginning of the school year - gives students the opportunity to develop their leadership and communication skills in a small, supportive setting.

Mountain Bay offers students a variety of clubs and organizations, but first-grade teacher Pete Tabor and Principal Patrick Phalen said student council fills a void in leadership roles at the school. ...
