Everest wins three matches in loss to Rapids

Two of the younger teams in the Wisconsin Valley Conference locked horns Jan. 24, and Wisconsin Rapids looked more like the veteran team..

The Raiders won 11 of 14 matches Jan. 20, including two by pin and another by technical fall en route to a 50-10 victory over D.C. Everest. Rapids improved to 2-3 in the Valley, while Everest slipped to 1-4.

"We've been a work in progress all season, and we knew we would," Rapids coach Scott Benitz said. "We're both young teams, and I thought we won the matches we should have won. Some were closer than I thought they would be, but we won some good matches tonight." ...
