Mariachi Night celebrates culture, music

The sounds of the Lincoln High School Mariachi band filled the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School cafeteria Thursday night, complementing the aroma of tacos and nachos that have been served at the band's Mariachi Nights since 2010.

"It's just a nice place for families to come and just relax and enjoy the food and music," said Ginger Marten, director of the school's co-curricular band. The band consists of string players, including guitar, some trumpet players and a small percussion section.
