Former major league pitcher David Gassner and XLR8 Sports Training will be hosting a five-week pitching and training clinic starting Monday, Feb. 11. The sessions are in small groups for one hour, twice a week. Mondays will be pitching instruction with Gassner starting at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. The second day of training is the athlete's choice of Wednesday, Thursday or Friday after school and later or Saturday mornings. The 32nd annual St. John Men's Tournament will be held March 1-3 and 8-10 in Menasha. The tournament is limited to the first 16 teams to return rosters and entry fees. The team entry fee is $125. The losers of the first-round games will move to the "B" division and winners will go to the "A" division. Plaques and awards will be given to the top three teams in both divisions. The Appleton East Girls Softball Camp will be held Saturday, March 16. Session I will be from 9 a.m. to noon for grades 5-8. Session II will be from noon to 4 p.m. for grades 1-4. A free pitching session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. for grades 1-8. All sessions will be held at Appleton East High School. The camp is open to any girls in grades 1-8.
