Businesses located in or near the East Main Street strip mall Walmart currently anchors are unsure of how the department store giant's move across the street will affect them, or whether that space will be filled.

Walmart plans to build a 120,000-square-foot Supercenter that would include a full grocery and pharmacy, be open 24 hours a day and employ about 250 people. It would replace the company's current 73,800-square-foot facility at 3500 E. Main St. The current store, which opened in 1989, will remain open during construction but be vacated when the Supercenter opens.
