Coaches: UWGB - Brian Wardle (40-44, third season); Loyola - Porter Moser (125-132, ninth season overall; 20-31, second season at Loyola).

Series: The Phoenix leads 25-15 and has won three straight, including a 58-45 win at the Resch Center on Jan. 9.

UWGB update: The Phoenix returns to the site of perhaps its most dramatic game of last season, when Kam Cerroni hit the game-winning 3-pointer with four-tenths of a second left in overtime for a 73-70 victory. Cerroni, the junior guard who last season made at least one 3-pointer in every Horizon League game, has seen his minutes decrease of late. He played just 10 minutes in Thursday's 60-57 loss at Illinois-Chicago. In the previous game, he played only nine minutes, including none in the second half, against UW-Milwaukee. After making 60 3-pointers in 30 games last season. He has just 25 in 22 games this season but did go 3-of-3 against Loyola earlier this season. ? UIC became just the second Horizon League team to outrebound the Phoenix this season. The Flames had a 30-25 advantage, including 13-6 in offensive rebounds. Previously, UWGB hadn't been outrebounded since the league opener at Wright State on Jan. 3. ? Senior forward Brennan Cougill, who had 11 points against the Flames, has scored in double figures in five straight and seven of nine conference games. ? UWGB practiced on Friday at Marshall High School, the alma mater of sophomore guard Keifer Sykes, who is averaging 19.3 ppg in three career games in his home city.

Loyola update: The Ramblers haven't played since a 76-65 home win over UWM on Wednesday. That was their third victory in their last four games, following a four-game losing streak that included the game at UWGB. ? Senior forward Ben Averkamp, who had 26 points and 10 rebounds at home last year against UWGB, ranks fourth in the Horizon League in scoring (15.5 ppg) behind Detroit's Ray McCallum (18.4), Valparaiso's Ryan Broekhoff (16.9) and Youngstown State's Kendrick Perry (16.3). However, Averkamp was held to just four points the Jan. 9 game at the Resch Center. Loyola's Christian Thomas ranks second in the league in field-goal percentage (.600) behind Valpo's Kevin Van Wijk (.620). ? The Ramblers are 6-3 at home but all three losses have come in Horizon League play. The Ramblers are just 1-3 in home conference games. The lone victory came against UWM. Their other two conference victories came on the road at Valpo and at Cleveland State.
