Stevens Point native embraces new work with Sen. Baldwin

Bill Murat said he's had one major surprise since taking his new job.

Murat, a Stevens Point native, was announced as chief of staff for U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in a news release by her office Tuesday. He previously held the same position while Baldwin served in the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2012 before the Democrat defeated former Gov. Tommy Thompson last November for the Senate seat being vacated by Herb Kohl.
