Greater Wausau: Dental clinic treats 75 kids for free

Two local dental offices shut down regular operations Friday to provide 75 local children with free dental care through a nationwide initiative to promote oral health.

The Give Kids a Smile program, sponsored by the American Dental Association, aims to provide dental services to underserved children. Dentists and other team members volunteer their time and services to provide screenings, treatments and education to children. The ADA estimates that more than 9,000 children will receive $1.2 million in donated dental care this year in Wisconsin alone.
