? Matt and Tabitha Hartwig of Athens were named second runners-up in the state Outstanding Young Farmer competition held Jan. 19 in Keshena.

The Hartwigs own a dairy herd and use managed intensive grazing. They were sponsored by Citizens State Bank of Loyal, Service Motor Co., Northside Elevator, Agropur and Stetsonville Oil Co.


? Jerry Gebert recently retired from his post as chief executive officer of River Cities Bank but will remain as chairman of the board of directors.

In 1996, Gebert led a group of organizers to explore the possibility of opening a new bank. On July 1, 1997, River Cities Bank opened its doors in Wisconsin Rapids. Since then, Gebert has served as CEO and president of the bank, as well as chairman of the board.

Fred Siemers, president of River Cities Bank, was approved as the president and CEO at the November board meeting, effective at the start of this year.


? Riverview Family Clinic has welcomed Psychiatrist Sarah Keiser, MD, to its Wisconsin Rapids office.

A native of Wisconsin, Keiser earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, D.C. She completed her residency in psychiatry at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

? Community Care of Central Wisconsin, a state-certified, managed long-term care organization, has announced that Kris Kubnick has been selected to become the director of the Department of Community Resources.

In his role, Kris will oversee all services related to member self-direction, supported living, integrated employment and organizational provider contracting/relations.

Community Care of Central Wisconsin supports more than 3,300 elder and adult disabled participants in a five-county service region in north central Wisconsin.

? Yvonne Prey and Jim Prey from thepreygroup.com and Coldwell Banker Action Realty, Schofield, have been recognized as the top agents in the Central Wisconsin Multiple Listing Service.

The Preys sold more than $8 million more in volume in 2012 than any other agent or team in the MLS, and 20 more properties than the next top agents. Their team includes Alison Tonkin and Mallory Sierk. Coldwell Banker Action Realty is owned by Rob and Kris Rybarczyk.


? Jennifer Baumann is the new store team leader for the Rib Mountain Goodwill Retail Store and Training Center and for Goodwill's Talent Shop, which is located within the store.

Goodwill NCW is a not-for-profit human services organization that works to improve the lives of more than 48,000 people across north central Wisconsin through more than 25 programs and services. Goodwill covers 35 counties and includes 24 retail stores and training centers in Wisconsin.


? The 2013 United Way of Portage County board of directors held its annual meeting Jan. 16 at Delta Dental Plan of Wisconsin in Stevens Point.

Pam Jewell took over the responsibilities of board president. The board of directors also welcomed the following new members: Erin Andrews, Ryan Andrews, Doug Ballweg, Jon Gadbois, Jim McDonald, Michelle Peariso, Elisha Robinson and Attila Weninger.

? Attorney Christine Bremer Muggli, of Bremer & Trollop Law Offices S.C., recently was presented with the David R. Obey Person of Principal Award.

The award presentation was held at the annual meeting of the Marathon County Democratic Party. Former Congressman David R. Obey, 7th Congressional District, presented the award to Bremer Muggli.

The David R. Obey Award was first presented in 2004. The award is given annually to a person who has demonstrated those characteristics that best define David R. Obey.
