After months of weighing the potential costs of hiring someone to demolish the former Brown County Mental Health Center, the county is considering a version of a do-it-yourself project.
Lawmakers this week agreed to explore having the Public Works Department handle demolition and removal of the structure. Officials said that doing the project in-house could help speed development on the east side of the city of Green Bay, while likely reducing costs that have been estimated at $1 million or more.
