Food for Freedom set to break world record

A Fond du Lac High School student is spearheading an effort to collect enough food donations to topple a world record and feed thousands of people.

Junior Daniel Loomans, 16, held a press conference Friday at the high school to unveil his plan to attempt to break the world record for the largest food drive held in 24 hours at a single location.

The event involves a five-county area and will take place from Saturday, May 25, to Sunday, May 26, Memorial Day weekend. Non-perishable food items will be collected at Fond du Lac High School, 801 Campus Drive. ...
