Delays caused by problems in acquiring land have pushed back the scheduled launch of a new public safety radio system in Brown County, but officials say the system will be ready by a new deadline at mid-year.

The $12 million system to replace an antiquated police, fire and ambulance radio system was supposed to be in place by Jan. 1, but Brown County received an extension until August after encountering problems last year reaching agreement on prices for sites on which new radio towers would be built.
