A 42-year-old Niagara man killed Sunday after his pickup hit a power pole has been identified as Shane Spade.

The crash was reported at 1:14 a.m. after the pickup was eastbound on Marinette County N and left the road, rolled over several times and hit the pole near Marinette County O west of Niagara, according to a statement from the Marinette County Sheriff's Department.

Spade was alone in the pickup and thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have said speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

It was the county's first traffic fatality of 2013.
