Four displaced after boiler fire in downtown Sheboygan

Four people were displaced after a basement fire in downtown Sheboygan on Sunday morning.

The call came in just before 9 a.m. for a fire at Chinatown Kitchen, 1107 N. Eighth St., said Shift Commander Kevin Anhalt of the Sheboygan Fire Department. But the fire, which originated with the boiler, actually started in the adjacent unit, 1109 N. Eighth St.

Most of the damage was on the first floor of the two two-story, adjacent units, Anhalt said. Firefighters had to move a 10-feet by 10-feet area of the first floor, he said. ...
