Students gain business skills from FBLA participation

Communication, teamwork, critical thinking and other skills are important to succeed in the business world, and hundreds of high school students spent part of the weekend in Grand Rapids demonstrating those abilities.

More than 600 students participated Saturday in a regional competition of the Future Business Leaders of America, or FBLA, at Mid-State Technical College. The event was hosted by the Pittsville chapter of FBLA, an organization for students in grades nine through 12.

Students came from as far north as Minocqua and as far south as Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point. ...
