Catholic school closures sadden Appleton parents

APPLETON - Parents of students at two Catholic elementary schools set to close in Appleton say they're disappointed, but not surprised.

The St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, formerly ACES Xavier, announced late last week that classes at St. Bernadette and Catholic Central would end after the 2013-14 school year. St. Thomas More Elementary and St. Pius X Elementary will be restructured as one school - St. Francis Xavier Elementary School - with two campuses.
