The average retail price for a gallon of gasoline in Green Bay rose dramatically in the past week to $3.49, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 127 gas outlets.

The price is 9.5 cents higher than a year ago and 25.2 cents higher than a month ago.

The U.S. average was $3.48 a gallon. That is 4.4 cents a gallon more than a year ago and 21.1 cents more than a month ago.

"The national average has ticked higher in the last week, as rising oil prices have put upward pressure on gasoline prices," said GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan. "Unfortunately for angry motorists, there doesn't seem to be much relief in sight, at least for the time being, as retail prices continue to climb in virtually all areas of the country."
