The owners of Memorial Mall and three Walgreen stores have again filed claims against the City of Sheboygan for what they feel are excessive property tax assessments.

In the case of Walgreen, the company claims it overpaid its 2012 taxes by $46,480 and is seeking a refund for the same amount, plus interest. Memorial Mall's owners are seeking a refund of $176,580, plus interest, for their alleged overpayment.

The notices are among a series of claims filed by both businesses in recent years for alleged excessive taxation, which has triggered a pair of lawsuits against the city. ...
