Homicide suspect charged with trying to hire inmate to kill central Wis. man

A 21-year-old Marshfield man charged with killing his former girlfriend now is accused of trying to hire a fellow inmate to kill a central Wisconsin man.

According to the new criminal complaint filed in Wood County Circuit Court, Gabriel L. Campos offered a 46-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man $4,600, an AK-47 rifle and a Chevy Impala - all impounded when Campos was arrested at a Wisconsin Rapids hotel after the death of his former girlfriend - if the inmate would kill the man Campos said his former girlfriend had been dating.

Campos previously was charged with first-degree intentional homicide ...
