A retired firefighter is taking issue with a recommendation by the city's fire chief to terminate an employee accused of violating departmental policies.

Jim Feiereisen says he is speaking out in advance of the termination hearing scheduled today because he believes the disciplinary action recommended by Fire Chief Peter O'Leary is too harsh.

Feiereisen worked for the Fond du Lac Fire Department for 31 years and retired as a battalion chief in 2003. ...
