Club news: Toastmasters

Matt Meis was voted in as the first new member of the Sentry Toastmasters for 2013 when the club met recently.

The regular meeting featured Joni Lodzinski as Toastmaster. Debbie Carcy inspired the audience with her speech titled, "The Right Thing to Do." Dick Hawley presented his speech, "A Tradition of Excellence," Deborah Ginsberg presented, "Toastmasters Educational Programs," and Brian Cychosz presented his speech titled, "And You Thought You Knew Toastmasters?"

John Cychosz was the Topic Master for the meeting, Dick Hawley was General Evaluator and his team featured the individual evaluators: Ciana Rose, John Cychosz, Leah Rose and Linda Hammerschmidt. Brenda Anderson-Yesse served as Ah Counter, Sid Siahpush served as Grammarian and Brian Cychosz served as Timer.

We welcome guests at our meetings to learn how you may commit to growing and developing your communication and leadership skills. Our next meeting is at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at Sentry Insurance, Stevens Point.

The next Speechcraft session begins March 14 and runs through April 18. This six-week program is designed to help you learn and practice public speaking and evaluation skills that will benefit you in all areas of your life.
