Charges are expected to be filed against two tenants who lived in a Wausau home that was heavily damaged in a fire early Monday.

The tenants, who lived in the upstairs apartment of the three-unit building at 112 S. Fourth Avenue, told investigators they were burning incense inside a cardboard toilet paper roll next to the bathtub when the blaze broke out, Wausau Police Lt. Craig Dunbar said in an email.

The fire was reported at about 6:15 a.m. Monday. Firefighters arrived on scene and saw smoke coming from a second-story window on the front of the house and flames at the back of the home, Wausau Fire ...
