A Mosinee man arrested after a woman passed a note to a bank teller begging for help will stand trial on charges of sexually abusing the woman and holding her against her will.

Julian Alvarez, 31, who is facing charges of sexual assault, false imprisonment, substantial battery and strangulation, appeared Wednesday at a preliminary hearing in Marathon County Circuit Court. A hearing originally scheduled for Nov. 28 was delayed at the request of Daniel Cveykus, a defense attorney for Alvarez.
