Fox Cities reins in economic optimism

Survey shows profit, sales outlook down from last year

Fox Cities executives say there still is reason to be optimistic about the economy and expect 2013 to be a good year.

Results of the latest economic outlook survey conducted by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce & Industry released Wednesday show nearly half or about 46 percent of about 200 businesses surveyed expect the overall economy to show growth at the end of 2013. That's down from 49.5 percent a year ago.

The latest survey also showed less optimism in sales growth and profits for 2013, but overall the data suggests the Fox Cities is feeling good about the economy. ...
