Just as one monster truck event hits the gas on its way out of town, another is headed in.

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam, billed as "the most popular monster truck tour,'' will make its first visit to the Resch Center at 2 and 7:30 p.m. April 6 and 2 p.m. April 7. Tickets start at $12 for ages 2-12 and $22 for adults. They're on sale through Ticket Star outlets, Resch box office, (800) 895-0071 and www.ticketstaronline.com.

The Party in the Pits from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 6 gives fans a chance to check out those custom-designed, 10,000-pound, 12-foot tall trucks with the 66-inch tall tires up close and meet the drivers. Tickets are $10.

The Monster Trucks XL Tour played Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena last weekend.

Saddle up for 'War Horse' tickets: If you stayed away from Steven Spielberg's film adaptation of "War Horse,'' because it looked too heart wrenching, here's your chance to check out the stage version that uses life-sized puppets to bring the galloping, charging horses to life.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's Tony Award winner about a boy and his horse during World War I makes its Fox Cities Performing Arts Center premiere June 25-30 in Appleton. Tickets go on sale for $55 and up at 10 a.m. Friday at the PAC box office, www.foxcitiespac.com and Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday- Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
