Motorists urged to use caution around snowplows

The Manitowoc Police Department reminds motorists to use extra caution while driving near snowplows and other city vehicles engaged in snow removal or other street maintenance activities, said Captain Larry Zimney in a news release.

According to Zimney:

Vehicles plowing snow or performing street maintenance are allowed by state statute to operate left of center on city streets. Snowplows regularly perform this type of maneuver on some streets to efficiently plow the streets as quickly as possible. Motorists need to be aware of that when approaching a plow from the front. ...
