First Warrior Project can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until Feb. 28 in the Learning Center at The Highground Veterans Memorial Site at Neillsville.

The Purpose of First Warrior is to enlighten people about the patriotic service of Native Americans. The exhibit reminds everyone that America's Original People first defended their homeland against invaders in 1942.

That Chief Joseph, Chief Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Crazy Horse and thousands of forgotten First Americans who fought to be free and equal in their own land are also American War Veterans and should be honored as such.
