Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Walmart Thursday morning

The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating a bomb threat that was called into Walmart Thursday morning.

Officers were at Walmart, 351 S. Washburn St., for an unrelated incident when an unknown caller contacted the store at 9:48 a.m. and said there was a bomb in the store. The store was evacuated and police conducted a search, but did not find a bomb or anything suspicious, said Joe Nichols, spokesman for the Oshkosh Police Department.

The store reopened at 10:35 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contacted the Oshkosh Police Department, (920) 236-5700, or Winnebago County Wide Crime Stoppers, (920) 231-8477. Tips can also be submitted by texting "IGOTYA" and the tip to 274637 or through the website, www.winnebagocrimestoppers.org.
