Packers carry over an extra $7 million in cap room

Feb. 7, 2013

The Packers picked up an extra $7 million on this year's salary cap by carrying over unused cap room from last year.

According to a report on ProFootballTalk.com, the Packers had the 12th most money to carry over from this past season. Philadelphia had the most with $23 million; Dallas (minus-$2.67 million) and Washington (minus-$13.8 million) were in the red because of penalties for breaking cap rules in 2010.

Those totals are just the amount of unused cap room the teams can carry over from this past season, not the total they'll have. The 2013 cap is expected to be about the same as last season, or around $121 million.
