Several schools were after the services of Medford football player Ben Hemer.

Who could blame them? Standing 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 251 pounds, several schools offered scholarships to the first-team all-Great Northern Conference offensive lineman.

Football Championship Subdivision champion North Dakota State and NCAA Division II power Minnesota-Duluth were after Hemer's services, but the pull of his homestate team and major college football appealed to him too much. ...
