Sleeping like a dream again

He's not only a dentist at the Marshfield Clinic Medford Dental Center but Dr. Matthew Eaton knows a great deal about a treatment that some of his sleep apnea patients use. He benefits from it himself.

For the past year, Eaton has used a custom fit oral appliance to relieve symptoms of his own sleep apnea. His brother and father also suffered from sleep apnea, and Eaton said his dad passed away at age 58 after a heart attack. Untreated sleep apnea is a known risk factor for events like heart attacks and strokes, Eaton said.
