Boys basketball: Algoma nearly pulls off huge upset of Blazers

The Algoma Wolves boys basketball team proved it can compete with anyone, when they barely lost at undefeated Green Bay Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran 69-63 on Jan. 31.

At one point in the first half, a 17-point Wolves' lead had the Blazers (20-0, 12-0 Packerland) on the ropes.

"NEW Lutheran is a great team, and we knew we had to come out with intensity and play hard," said Algoma head coach Bob Graf. "We came out and played with a lot of physicality, and more importantly with a lot of confidence. That type of game is exactly what you want to see from your team as you are gearing up for the tournament." ...
