Skyward Inc. announced Friday it had submitted its notice to protest the decision on the statewide student information system with the Wisconsin Department of Administration.

Losing bidders on the contract have until Feb. 15 to protest the decision. Other companies to submit proposals included California-based Edupoint Educational Systems, Florida-based Focus School Software, Illinois-based Follett Software Co., New York-based Pearson Inc. and Alabama-based Software Technology Inc.

In a news release, Skyward said based on an analysis of the two proposals that it's bid was $2.6 million less per year than Infinite Campus, the Minnesota-based company selected. The company also said that implementation costs identified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, which are the responsibility of each school district, were not considered in the evaluation.
