Alissa Jandrain said the mood of employees at Skyward Inc. was somber this week after the Feb. 1 announcement that the Stevens Point-based software company did not get a contract to provide student information services to public school districts statewide.

"It's still kind of eerie. It's like somebody died," said Jandarin, a project manager with Skyward. "I think for a lot of people, it's still hard to believe, and we just don't know what is going to happen."
