Hello Waupun,

We have been hearing so many positive comments from the community regarding the new Taco Bell coming to Waupun. As you know we have been actively pursuing new quality of life enhancements in our community with the addition of the walking trail and boardwalk; the new baseball complex; and the new aquatic center at the County Park, to name a few. All of these things are a part of our strategic plan to grow our community.

Here is another step we are taking for economic growth in our community. As you may remember last year we did a feasibility study to find out the viability of a new hotel in Waupun. The findings of that study were positive, so we have been working with the Wyndham Hotel Group to turn this vision into a reality.

This is where you may come into the picture . . . have you been looking for an investment in our community? If so you can learn more about this development opportunity at a meeting being held on Feb. 19, with the Wyndham Hotel Group. You can call our City Administrator, Kyle Clark at 324-7919 for more information on the time and location. Let's keep Waupun moving forward!

The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation and the Waupun Memorial Hospital Special Events Committee are sponsoring "An Evening of Chocolate & Wine" on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event will take place right here at the Waupun City Hall Auditorium.

This premier event will feature decadent chocolates from Guth's End of the Trail Candy Shoppe and various hand-selected wines from around the world. There will be available for sampling numerous specialty beers, local cheeses and a bountiful hors d'oeuvre buffet. Entertainment is being provided by harpist Deborah Guy. There will also be raffles and a silent auction.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Waupun Memorial Hospital women's health and breast care services. Dress is business casual.

For reservations, call 920-324-6512 or 920-926-4959 by Friday, Feb. 15.

Until next week . . .

Mayor Jodi
