Agnesian HealthCare and the Dale Michels Center for Heart Care have scheduled a cardiac support group, "Caring for Your Heart Club," for individuals touched with heart disease.

"Caring for Your Heart Club" is a free monthly program, scheduled over the noon hour that gives participants an opportunity to share their concerns with others having similar experiences and to design ways to cope with the challenges that arise from a heart disease diagnosis.

The next "Caring for Your Heart Club" is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Agnesian HealthCare's Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac. Lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m., with group discussion beginning at noon. Participants should use the St. Agnes Hospital entrance.

February's "Caring for Your Heart Club" program will focus on lifesaving CPR.

Join Jonna Garrett, BS, Agnesian HealthCare clinical educator, to learn the CPR skills needed to assist an individual in cardiac arrest. Garrett will also provide an overview and demonstration of the automated external defibrillator (AED). AEDs are used to restart a heart that has stopped beating or is beating too quickly to create a pulse.

For more information or to register for this free program, call Journeys: a health resource center at 926-4960; or e-mail at classes@agnesian.com.
