Manitowoc County residents on Friday were shoveling out from under a heavy snowfall, which started Thursday and continued overnight. The snow forced many area schools to delay opening by two hours.

Two Rivers reported the most snow in the county, with 9.5 inches, said Scott Cultice, meteorologist with the National Weather Service of Green Bay.

The south side of Manitowoc received 8.2 inches of snow, Valders recorded 8 inches, St. Nazianz had 7.9 inches, Francis Creek got 6.1 inches and Newton reported 4.5 inches, he said. ...
