Point Brewery expanding for fourth time in as many years

The Stevens Point Brewery is embarking on its fourth expansion in as many years, a $2 million project that will increase production and add jobs.

The project, expected to be completed in May, will add a second brew kettle, a new automated grain handling system and 16 more fermentation tanks, also called "unitanks" because they are able to both ferment and age beer. As a result, the brewery's production capacity will increase from 120,000 barrels to more than 150,000 barrels.

The expansion also will include a machine that will allow the brewery, at 2617 Water St. in Stevens Point, to package ...
