With the notable weather we've had lately, we should thank those workers who must face the cold, wind, snow, rain and ice in their jobs.

I found a way to make our mail carriers' jobs a bit easier by following guidelines on the usps.com website. Put your roadside mailbox where a carrier can reach inside without leaving his or her vehicle. Position the mailbox about 41 to 45 inches off the ground and back about six to eight inches from the curb. In areas with lots of snow, a post with a semi-arch or extended arm-type support is suggested so snowplows can move the snow under the box without knocking it ...
