A 51-year-old Oshkosh man was arrested Saturday after he threw a cup of urine at a police officer during an arrest.
An employee at Paper Tiger Book Store, 408 N. Main St., contacted Oshkosh Police Saturday at 3:05 p.m. to report a man had come into the store, opened a box of cigars and took some of the cigars before he left on a bicycle, said Joe Nichols, spokesman for the Oshkosh Police Department.
After receiving a description of the man, they spoke to him at his residence in the 300 block of Pearl Avenue. At first the man was cooperative, but once officers told him he was being placed under arrest, Nichols said the man became uncooperative, began attacking officers and threw a cup of urine at them.
The man was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody. He was taken to the Winnebago County Jail for resisting arrest, discharging bodily fluids towards a public safety officer, retail theft and possession of marijuana. He was also placed on a probation hold, Nichols said.
Officers also took pictures and video of the man's residence because they determined it was unlivable conditions, Nichols said.
