The deadline is looming for Stevens Point officials to decide whether they wants to combine their dispatch center with Portage County's facility next door.

Portage County Chief Deputy Dan Kontos told the Stevens Point Police and Fire Commission last week that Portage County Executive Patty Dreier's offer to provide dispatching services to the city would only extend through March 1 and was take it or leave it.

The comment came in response to deliberations by the commission about concerns they had with the contract. ...
