Representative democracy, as it turns out, is working the way it is supposed to in Wisconsin.

Would you believe an elected official in northeast Wisconsin cared enough to actively seek out area resident opinions beyond just election results? Not only that, public opinion will help guide the decisions made on behalf of those same area residents.

Two weeks ago, a writer to this paper, Mrs. Kathleen Marsh, wrote me a loaded question, "In light of the fact that it will destroy most of our public schools in northern Wisconsin, what is your view of expanding voucher schools?" ...
