Stevens Point needs to go back to the bank for more money to complete the redevelopment of the former downtown mall site.

The city Finance Committee on Monday night approved taking out a $1.7 million bank note that "closes the project out," Mayor Andrew Halverson said.

Two years ago on Friday, the city borrowed $5.9 million to redevelop the CenterPoint MarketPlace property. Since then, it has run into unexpected legal and environmental costs. ...
