Seven fish were harvested on Lake Winnebago and 26 from the Upriver Lakes on Tuesday, the fourth day of the sturgeon spearing season on the Winnebago System.

It was the final day of the season on the Upriver Lakes, and a total of 261 fish were harvested. Tuesday’s largest fish on the Upriver Lakes was a 73.2-inch, 110.6-pound sturgeon speared by John Vandersanden. The largest fish of the season was Robert Prahl’s 72.9-inch, 124.5-pound female that he harvested on opening day.

The largest fish taken on Lake Winnebago on Tuesday weighed 110.2 pounds and measured 70.7 inches, and was registered at Wendt’s by Al Zangl.

Lake Winnebago: Tueday’s total — 7 (1 juvenile female, 1 adult female, 5 males). Season total — 76 (12 juvenile females, 30 adult females, 34 males). No. of fish remaining before 90 percent harvest caps — 276 juvenile females, 641 adult females, 830 males.

Upriver Lakes (final day of season): Tuesday’s total — 26 (3 juvenile females, 9 adult females, 14 males). Season total — 261 (26 juvenile females, 85 adults females, 150 males). No. of fish remaining before 90 percent harvest caps — 46 juvenile females, 10 over on adult females, 66 males.
