West De Pere to present 'Legally Blonde' next week

The West De Pere High School theatre group will present an adaptation of the hit production "Legally Blonde: The Musical" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, through Saturday, Feb. 23, in the school auditorium, 665 Grant St.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. each day.

The show features upbeat, exciting musical numbers. It is rated PG and may not be suitable for young children. The show also features two live dogs.

Tickets are $7 for regular admission and $5 for Facebook fans and Twitter followers of "WDPHS Theatre." West De Pere High School students are admitted free with ID.

Tickets are available in the high school office from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on school days. They also will be sold at the door on the nights of the show.

Knights on Broadway dinner show Saturday night

St. Norbert College's musical theater group, the Knights on Broadway, will present the "Songs of Love" dinner show at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at F.K. Bemis International Conference Center on the De Pere campus.

The group will pay tribute to Broadway's greatest love songs and stories.

The event will include fine dining, dessert, champagne and roses for the women.

Cost for the dinner and the show is $75. Entrée choices include shrimp, beef tenderloin or a vegetarian meal.

Dinner will be preceded by cocktails and a cash bar starting at 5:30.

Tickets for the show only are $29.

St. Norbert College band concerts this weekend

St. Norbert College's Music Department will present a pair of concerts this weekend at Walter Theatre in Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the De Pere campus.

The Winter Band Concert will start at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.

The concert will feature the college's Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble, as well as faculty soloists.

The Winter BandFest Concert will start at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17.

The concert will feature the college's Wind Ensemble and the Winter BandFest High School Honor Band, which is comprised of more than 70 high school musicians from Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

General-admission tickets are $6 for each concert. They can be purchased online at http://tickets.snc.edu or by calling the college box office at (920) 403-3950.

Wellens in UWGB music recital Saturday night

Kevin Wellens of De Pere is among eight University of Wisconsin-Green Bay musicians who are scheduled to perform in a free Student Honors Recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay.

The concert will feature a variety of vocalists and instrumentalists.

Wellens sings baritone-bass.
