Packers running back Cedric Benson has paid $853,50 in fines for three citations in Manitowoc County, according to The Associated Press.
Benson paid $452.50 for a speeding citation after being accused of going 41 mph over the speed limit.
He also paid $200.50 for driving without a valid license and $200.50 for an animal-at-large citation last month.
Another animal-at-large charge is still pending. According to the citation, Benson’s two Rottweilers attacked 17 calves at his neighbor’s farm in Maribel in December. The dogs chewed on calves’ legs and several suffered deep wounds, a sheriff’s department report said.
Benson told deputies he had put up a fence to contain the dogs, but they managed to escape.
That citation is scheduled for court next Wednesday.
Benson signed a one-year contract with the Packers last August but only played in five regular-season games before suffering a foot injury. He will become an unrestricted free agent in March.
