Feasting on Fat Tuesday: Lakeland students feast on cooks' favorites the day before Lent

Today marks the start of the church calendar's Lenten season, which some recognize by forfeiting certain indulgences, but before the self-sacrificing began, students and faculty at Lakeland College treated themselves on Fat Tuesday, as the day before Lent is called.

Lakeland's Vice President for Student Development Nate Dehne and sophomore Joey Burris prepared two of their favorite dishes to serve to the Lakeland community in the campus cafeteria during lunchtime Tuesday as part of the college's Creative Cuisine initiative.
