Rosholt man sentenced in wire thefts

One of several men involved in a series of wire thefts from Portage County farms will spend time in jail.

John R. Nelson, 20, of Rosholt, was sentenced to six months in jail and given five years of probation on counts of theft, burglary and assault.

Nelson was arrested in October 2011 along with five others in connection with a series of burglaries and thefts that occurred between 2010 and 2011 in the eastern part of the county. Nelson also was charged with assaulting a man in Amherst. ...
