Wausau approves vicious pet ban

The Wausau City Council unanimously approved Tuesday a city ordinance that will allow the Wausau Police Chief to ban from the city any vicious pets that have attacked or bit a person.

The chief will review dangerous animals bans on a case-by-case basis. If he declares a pet dangerous, the pet owner will have to remove the animal from city limits within five days. Pet owners, for example, could chose to euthanize the pet or relocate the pet to another home.
